Ensuring that all payroll data is entered correctly into the system and that paychecks are distributed accurately and on time. Maintaining accurate records of all payroll transactions, including payroll taxes, deductions, and employee benefits. Managing payroll taxes, including filing all necessary forms and making payments on time. Ensuring that all payroll processes are in compliance with state and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures. Providing support to employees regarding payroll-related questions, issues, and concerns. Collaborating with other departments, such as HR and finance, to ensure that all employee data is accurate and up to date. Managing payroll vendors and software systems, and making recommendations for new systems or updates as needed. Preparing reports for management regarding payroll costs and other related matters. To be successful as a payroll executive in manufacturing, one must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. Additionally, strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with employees and management. A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required, along with several years of experience in payroll administration. Proficiency with payroll software and technology is also a must, as well as an understanding of the manufacturing industry and related payroll issues.
