APS-4: Material Handler

The Material Handler will:

Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. Reads and interprets instructions and procedures. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. May move materials manually or using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, conveyor, or hand-operated crane or hoist. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed. Typically requires 2-5 years of related experience.

Inventory Management- Performs inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment. Items managed are of low unit or annual demand value, involve short procurement lead time, are obtained from standard or other readily available sources of supply, and reflect relatively stable patterns of demand. Determines, forecasts, distributes material. Obtains procurement authorization.


Material Coordination- Performs material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops. Duties are performed on the basis of practical experience in processing and expediting supply transactions related to the particular organizations serviced.


Cataloging- Writes item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels. Applies requirements selecting the appropriate description pattern. Reviews existing stock catalogs, manufacturers’ catalogs, drawings, or other resource materials, for the purpose of matching characteristics to identify duplicate items already catalogued.
Performs all other duties as assigned. HS and a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.

This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 4 Program located in Camp Carroll, Korea. The Stock Clerk will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program. The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard. The Stock Clerk sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. This worker also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued, may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock, and may cut stock to site to fill order. Packs cargo containers, pallets and intermediate packs. Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base clearance and/or security clearance if required by site.

  • Favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
  • Ability to provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation.
  • High School/GED plus three years directly related work experience.
  • Completion of the basic warehousing course, equivalent from a military service related Advanced Individual Training or certification from a vocational school with a focus in Material Accounting/Inventory Methods preferred.
  • In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work from technical manuals, work instructions and work orders.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
  • Favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.
  • Must be able to work in a non‐temperature controlled environment, heat and humidity.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 35 pounds to shoulder height.
  • Required to pass initial and periodic drug screening.
  • Other duties assigned.
