ING Group Strategy and Innovation (GS&I) is looking for a Digital Assets Expert.

The GS&I department reports directly to the CEO of ING Bank and is composed of 3 complementary teams: (i) Group Innovation, (ii) Group Strategy Consulting, and (iii) Group Corporate Development. Each team has a specific scope, yet actively and continuously collaborates with each other through strategic insights in their core areas and leverages their key capabilities when needed by the other teams.
The role of the department is to advance ING’s strategy of Making the Difference by being the strategic advisors to the Management Board Banking (MBB) and Senior Management, in topics related to general strategy and disruptive innovation strategies. Its innovation objectives are to 1) prepare ING for industry changing trends, 2) create growth engines and 3) translate emerging technologies into bite-sized use-cases.
Group Innovation is dedicated to innovation exploration, validation of innovative solutions and development of these in close collaboration with business stakeholders. Group Innovation consists of a Strategy Consulting & Expertise team and a Development & Deployment team.
What will you be doing?
As a Digital Assets Expert, reporting to an Innovation Project Lead and working under the direction of the Global Head of Innovation, your responsibilities include:
Conducting research and analysis of digital assets and related technologies, including blockchain, smart contracts, and decentralized finance
Working in interdisciplinary project teams to explore, validate and develop innovative solutions in line with the innovation objectives under the direction of an Innovation Project Lead
Collaborating with business areas across the bank to build consensus around feasibility, desirability and strategic fit of use cases to propose to the Board
Collaborating with other teams within the organization (such as legal, compliance, and IT) to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory developments related to digital assets
Providing training and education to internal stakeholders on digital assets and related technologies
Building relationships with external stakeholders, such as industry associations, vendors, and regulators, to stay informed of best practices and industry standards
Profile:
Master's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
3 to 5 years of (financial services) work experience as a digital assets expert
Extensive knowledge about digital assets and related technologies, including blockchain, smart contracts, and decentralized finance
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to digital assets
Strong business sense combined with the ability to research new topics to develop insights and drive actionable results
Excellent communication / influencing skills
Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Deep innovation knowledge base, including methodologies, trends, benchmarks and applications in financial services industry
Ability to think out-of-the box
Must be fluent in English
