Core Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer for the Partner & Markets area:

  • Be instrumental in establishing the technical stack and direction for the product
  • Solid experience integrating with backend services of various kind using REST and/or GraphQL
  • Participate in defining and implementing the direction of the frontend, deliver high quality, readable and testable code using standard processes and methodologies
  • Participate and contribute in sprints and other agile ceremonies with the team

The Frontend / Fullstack Engineer plays an instrumental role within this team. Beyond crafting and optimizing our e-commerce platform, this position is about creating digital touchpoints that tell the LEGO Education story, driving engagement and supporting our broader mission. By ensuring that each online interaction is smooth and impactful, this role significantly contributes to the overall success and reach of LEGO Education in the global marketplace.

Building a digital interface is much like constructing with LEGO bricks: each piece is meticulously designed, thoughtfully placed, and serves a purpose. In this role, we're not just coding – we're crafting stories, creating experiences, and building dreams for educators and learners alike. Every line of code is a brick in the vast LEGO universe, and together, we bring imagination to life.

Do you have what it takes?

  • React/Vue experience or a similar library/framework
  • Proven knowledge in building Single Page Applications (SPAs)
  • You know your way around Git
  • Good sense of how to use TypeScript
  • Previous experience in managing state in a larger application
  • Knowledge of how and what to test in your application
  • Ability to solve, research, and work through complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Gatsby framework and/or static site generated websites
  • Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure
  • Java / Scala coding experience
  • You know about SCRUM and are used to working in an agile manner
