Position Summary:

PPI Business System Manager is responsible for the implementation of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Continuous Improvement Business System (PPI). In this role you will work closely with business leadership and steering committees to establish and mature the Lean Manufacturing System and other coaching tools to facilitate cultural transformation. This position will be based in Joo Koon Circle Singapore

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive continuous improvement strategy that aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead and coach functional and operational teams at every level to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth and become more efficient.
  • Champion an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve critical metrics, in the areas of customer, finance, people and quality.
  • Provide support to develop lean expertise and capability within the organization at all levels.
  • Improve the decision-making model and problem-solving capabilities within dedication teams to increase autonomy and the pace of change.
  • Train, coach and follow-up with teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the partners are running the processes independently.
  • Establish a PPI Steering Committee to ensure there is an active pipeline of initiatives aligned to business priorities, metrics and results. Ensure that there is a solid sustainability mechanism/review for past projects.
  • Proactively find and initiate improvements needed without needing to be directed.
  • Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management systems.
  • Partner with Finance to evaluate project savings estimates, validate reported PPI benefits, and ensure accurate accounting of PPI Productivity.
  • Work with the corporate PPI team to promote/standardize and share standard methodologies.
  • Handle high-level cross-functional improvement projects as a project manager

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, operations or business, with evidence of operational, leadership, or professional experience.

Experiences:

  • Minimum 7 years in Lean leadership expertise with experience implementing end-to-end Business-level change initiatives (in subject areas such as operations, finance, commercial, R&D/ Engineering, Quality, or Product Management).
  • A Lean Guide with extensive experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS-based business systems including elements such as:
    • Lean Leadership (Daily Management Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks).
    • Strategy Deployment and Value-stream mapping.
    • Kaizen events on standard work, cell design, process, and product 3P, Value- Analysis Value Engineering, error-proofing, material
    • Expertise in problem solving applying a formal program/process.
  • Identifying and delivering year-over-year results using metric-driven problem solving.
  • Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams.
  • Self-directed leader with ability to lead/influence across and up to the organization without direct reporting responsibility.
  • Plant Management experience is a plus.

  • A well-rounded problem solver who can look enterprise-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit.
  • Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skills.
  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct.
  • Six Sigma certification or black belt highly preferred.
