Risk Manager - IHG Cairo Citystars Hotels [Egypt]


 

Responsible for directing, supervising and co-ordinating the activities pertaining to keep hotel, colleagues and guests safe at all times. Ensure compliance with all local regulations concerning health, safety, or other requirements. A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Security department plan, schedule, and organize work to ensure proper coverage.
  • Communicate and enforce IHG safety policies and procedures.
  • Leading a security team or detail that enforces security and safety regulations within the hotel
  • Oversee and coordinate security efforts across the hotel, including information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management, and other groups, and will identify security initiatives and standards.
  • Writing daily activity reports, answering phone calls during off-hours and contacting the fire department or law enforcement during certain circumstances, such as criminal violation, fire and trespassing
  • Oversee a network of security supervisors and vendors who safeguard the company's assets, intellectual property, and computer systems, as well as the physical safety of employees and visitors.
  • Monitoring security cameras, parking lots, apprehending shoplifting suspects or assisting undercover store detectives with loss prevention
  • Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
  • Conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations to line management and /or their security coordinators
  • Creating & implementing safety & environmental protection plans and conducting safety & procedure compliance audits and safety round inspection for ensuring the safety compliance such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation
  • Performing Annual risk analysis for the hotel pertaining the country with respect to level of crime, terrorism, workplace violence, threats from natural and man-made disasters
  • Incident Analysis and investigation entailing all incidents with advice, closure of functional management and supporting security management
  • Providing recommendations and counselling the management on the expenditures of resources for protection of company assets
  • Liaising with the local Law Enforcement Bodies and the Government Official
  • Coordinating activities for the identification of training needs of employees for upgrading their technical skills and briefing security personnel at their respective sites
  • Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues.
  • Ensure all staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.
  • Monitor, coordinate and execute the special needs of VIP and head of states security.
  • Respond to guest complaints and special requests, and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Prepares proper follow-up and/or forecasts to aid in management decision making.

What we need from you

Experience

  • 5-8 years’ experience a similar position or a related field experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a 5-star luxury hotel company is essential.

Skills

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to work rotational shifts in any day of the week, including work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Experienced, inspiring and motivating leader with excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation, influencing skills with high level of creativity and innovation
  • Good time management skills; ability to prioritize and coordinate details; ability to multitask
  • A self-directed, strong self-starter with relationship skills consistent with cultivating extensive personal interactions with diverse cast and guest.
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
  • Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy and any related hotel matters.
