In this role you will develop new scientific concepts for the brand, the collections and the new launches. You will develop new active ingredients, in vitro test processes and technologies. You will follow and share relevant scientific research and trends. You will represent La Prairie in terms of life science expert. You will manage patents and you will play a key role in the innovation process
How you will create a beautiful impact:
Contributes to the strategic direction in relation to the product portfolio through scientific trends and innovations
Contributes to La Prairie's innovation and science vision
Searches for ideas and develops ingredient and product concepts to support brand image and stories, and evolve the current iconic ingredient stories.
Participates in the innovation/ideation process
Develops innovative new product concepts, integrating story, claims, ingredients and technologies
Manages innovation projects
Scans and understands latest science insights, translates these into potential consumer benefits
Follows latest research in skin, cell and molecular biology
Acts as scientific spokesperson for LP: press events, interviews, questions from the beauty press, client events
Handles, in collaboration with BDF-Hamburg, patent searches and filing/maintaining of LP patent applications
Searches for new active ingredients, technologies and devices
Develops new test assays to support innovative new claims
Establishes collaborations with external partners from industry and universities worldwide
Leads creative science meetings with global brand development and SI&S
Issues innovation newsletter
Is responsible for scientific documentation
Writes scientific fact sheets and stories
Reviews internal and external scientific-technical texts
Answers consumer inquiries related to technical-scientific topics
What you need to have to be our next audacious and creative talent:
Master /PhD or equivalent in a relevant life science discipline
10 years of R&D experience in cosmetics
Strong conceptual thinking to understand and define skincare trends for the next 5 – 10 years
Able to translate concepts into scientific properties
Knows how to define and test for claims
Good network of raw material suppliers and research institutes
Able to present/represent La Prairie with journalists and technical/scientific associations
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Experience in working with many different cultures
Excellent communication skills
Capable of vulgarising scientific concepts
Perfect English
