Job Description


Pay Range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year

  • To supervise the growing of meat turkeys in a least cost and efficient manner to insure a disease free, healthy quality product to the plant. To coordinate all schedules for contract ranches and or company to insure that Foster Farms programs are followed. Collection and reporting of data, all while working and promoting job safety.
  • Manage or supervise the maintenance of good ranch conditions and animal husbandry practices to assure optimum bird health and growth
  • Implement and supervise field compliance with disease control and recognize diseases through post-mortems and to understand and implement medications for treatment
  • Maintain good sanitation, rodent and weed programs
  • Delivery and any sanitation/medication supplies
  • Work and promote job safety
  • Develop growers to produce turkeys according to the Foster philosophy
  • Supervise the training of ranch personnel
  • Maintain a solid working relationship with contract growers
  • Coordinate with the Scheduling Department and contract growers for the delivery of turkey poults. Have facilities properly prepared
  • Coordinate with the Scheduling Department and growers for timely pick-up of turkeys for processing
  • Coordinate with the growers and proper vendors for timely clean-ups and delivery on new litter
  • Weigh flocks regularly for accurate weights for processing
  • Accurate completion of flock records; medication, vaccination, residues and final flock reports
  • Timely and accurate coding on invoices; rice hulls, shavings, medication and fuel
  • Prepare periodic memos pertinent to ranch activities; Live haul, Feed mill, flock and ranch documentation
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must have a B.S. in a related field or three (3) years in a Supervisory capacity in a Live Production environment
  • Must have a math aptitude
  • Must be computer literate in Windows environment, especially Excel & Word and Outlook (e-mail)
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and ability to motivate others
  • Must not own birds where resides
  • Bilingual helpful (Spanish/English)
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
  • Must have and maintain an acceptable DMV record.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce all Company policies and guidelines.
