Objective of job
- As a senior expert in vehicle data analysis, provide strategic view on the big data utilization. Bring up new ideas, methodology and mind-set to the whole R&D organization.
- As a member of R&D big data analytic team, process and analyze data collected from the vehicle. Lead the implementation of advanced mathematical and technical approach. Deliver insights and business information to various internal BUs. And support the product and project decisions.
- Discuss with both R&D and operation team to discover use cases for big data. Bring value to the company with comprehensive way of presentation to both management and technical team.
- Be creative thinker, bring up data-drive services and functions to our product from PoC (Proof of Concept) to in-car implementation.
Main tasks
- Perform data cleansing, aggregation, analysis and visualization from large and varied data sources to build a data driven understanding of customer behavior. Report to management with intuitive presentation.
- Participate in strategic planning of big data utilization. Provide professional advices on the direction and organization to the management.
- Bring new idea, methodology and technology to the team.
- Consult with business units across a variety of different functions to identify opportunities for data to make an impact and then drive these projects to realize the impact.
- Contribute to building out the data science community with Daimler by actively participating and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Qualification
- 7+ years of experience in automotive. 5+ years of experience as analytics/engineering role or equivalent. Engineering or product management background a plus.
- Good understanding of statistical concepts and technical trend in data analytic area.
- Good understanding about vehicle system and technology, i.e. E/E architecture, in-car software, data collection system etc..
- Ability to communicate and explain complex ideas at all levels (from senior management to other technical workers).
- Ability to consult within the business units and spot opportunities to add value with data driven approaches.
- Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment and to manage own projects.
- Python/SQL essential, experience with PySpark, HIVE, Hadoop.
- Familiarity with at least one data visualization tool (Power BI preferred).
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (German a plus)
