Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
QHSSE Management System:
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective and robust QHSSE management system, aligned with relevant international standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Regularly review and update QHSSE policies, procedures, and documentation to reflect changes in regulations and industry requirements.
- Conduct audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of the QHSSE management system and identify areas for improvement.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Stay updated on the latest developments in QHSSE regulations and requirements, ensuring the company's adherence to all applicable laws and industry guidelines.
- Liaise with relevant authorities, classification societies, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely compliance with all necessary permits, licenses, and certifications.
Safety Culture and Training:
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization through effective communication, training, and engagement programs.
- Organize and deliver QHSSE training sessions for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to enhance awareness and knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into QHSSE-related incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Compile and analyze QHSSE data to generate reports and insights, identifying trends and recommending strategies for continuous improvement.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct risk assessments for various operational activities and propose risk mitigation measures to minimize potential hazards and ensure safe operations.
- Implement emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management exercises to enhance preparedness for any unforeseen events.
Environmental Management:
- Develop and oversee environmental management programs to reduce the company's environmental impact, including waste management, pollution prevention, and energy conservation initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and drive sustainability initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a similar QHSSE management role.
- Knowledge of in QHSSE standards, regulations, and best practices, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISM Code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record in leading incident investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Demonstrated ability to drive a strong safety culture and engage employees in safety-related initiatives.
