The Person:
The Data Platform Lead will be responsible for managing and maintaining our data warehouse, as well as designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes. This role requires a strong background in both data warehousing and data engineering, with experience in Azure and other technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading data-driven initiatives and will be able to balance both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company's data warehouse, ensuring its stability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and implement ETL processes and data pipelines to extract,transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Monitor and optimize data flows, ensuring data accuracy,consistency, and completeness.
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures,including data quality, data security, and data privacy.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the capabilities of the data warehouse and support the needs of the organization.
- Provide technical guidance and support to data analysts and other team members, enabling them to efficiently access and analyze data from the data warehouse.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements for new data integration and analytics projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to the data warehouse,including data models, data dictionaries, and ETL processes.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices in data warehousing and data engineering, and integrate new knowledge into ongoing operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in data warehousing and data engineering.
- Strong experience with Azure data warehouse technologies
- Experience with other data warehousing technologies, such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, or Java).
- Knowledge of ETL tools and processes, data modeling, and data integration best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced,dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English.
