We're currently on the lookout for a Workshop Manager to run our Dubai workshop operations, servicing drilling equipment including mud pumps, drawworks, top drives and pipe handling equipment. The role will suit an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude, relevant experience and ability to deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Manage strip down and inspection of equipment.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment faults.
- Provide instruction and supervision to third party repair vendors.
- Manage repair, rebuild and function test of equipment.
- Manage completion of inspection reports and other engineering documentation.
- Manage workshop resource scheduling.
- Support development of and mentor workshop team.
- Develop work instructions based on standards, drawings and manuals.
- Manage compliance with project related QA/QC processes.
- Manage compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
- Manage workshop team in facility housekeeping – yard, work bay, equipment & tooling.
Requirements
Education & training:
- Mechanical maintenance engineer or similar.
- Drilling equipment maintenance training advantageous.
Technical requirements:
- Strong planning and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing maintenance of drilling equipment such as mud pumps, drawworks, top drives and pipe handling equipment advantageous.
