ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. The Resettlement programs to UK, Germany and Italy provide a safe and legal way for some of the most vulnerable and at-risk people from Afghanistan to come to the above-mentioned countries and rebuild their lives. IOM provides a range of services and support to the resettlement programs, but not limited to migration health assessments, cultural orientation training, organized transportation. The Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE), specifically the Resettlement and Movement Division (RMM), has the organizational responsibility to provide direction, oversight, and guidance to IOM’s global support to all resettlement programs. IOM Pakistan prepares at risk Afghan families and individuals for their resettlement to the above-mentioned countries and PDO training in preparation for resettlement to these countries. These information sessions are a key to better facilitate two-way integration support to the new arrivals. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Pakistan, direct supervision of the PDO focal point, and the general supervision of the National Movements Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for minding the children in a PDO class and provide basic PDO teaching for them.
