Associate to the Honourable Justice Moore Supreme Court of Victoria:
  • Full time, fixed term role
  • $73,842 per annum + 10.5% superannuation (VPS Grade 3.1 position)
  • Role based in the Melbourne CBD

About the role

The Honourable Justice Moore is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his Associate commencing in August 2023. The role is for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility for extension.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in the Common Law Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, personal qualities suitable for liaising with the profession and members of the public, as well as a strong academic record, are essential. Two years post-graduation experience is desirable. Applicants will ideally have experience in working in any of the areas of trusts, equity or probate, or a genuine interest in developing their knowledge and skills in those areas.

Duties include:


  • Assisting with the production of judgments, including proofreading and editing

  • Clerking in court

  • Reviewing files and orders

  • Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the judge in court

  • Preparing research memoranda

  • Assisting Judge in managing the Trust, Equity & Probate List

  • Liaising with court staff, the public, the media and the profession.
