The Cairns Convention Centre is getting ready for the upcoming events season and is looking for talented people to join our team as we get ready to welcome clients and guests through the doors. The Centre is home to some of the largest conferences and events in Tropical North Queensland. Where no two days are the same, the centre hosts an exciting array of events, conferences, concerts, NBL basketball games, banquets, public events, and performances. You will work with a team of dedicated professionals to achieve excellence in events in our multi-million dollar refurbished and brand-new building.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join our room sets team and assist in the set up and pack down of events at the Cairns Convention Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up of all client space and production requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients during events.
  • Coordinate the receipt, delivery and dispatch of client goods.

  • First Aid (desirable)
  • Forklift and Vertical Lift licence (desireable)
  • Driver’s Licence (desirable)
  • Minimum of 6 months in a similar position, preferably in a large public facility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent personal presentation and grooming.
  • Willingness to accept instruction.
  • Willingness to work as a team member.
  • Physically fit.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle pressure.
  • Flexibility with working hours.

A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.
